OVERVIEW

The program is designed to be in line with the vision and mission of the University. Through this program, graduates are expected to become part of the skilled worker which is capable in driving the growth of the country. This will be done with the course emphasizing new technologies, which also include theoretical and practical skills. In addition, this program will also expose students to a variety of activities that can increase the generic skills and personality.

 These are the PEOs for Bachelor in Foodservice Technology with Honours: 

PEO 1 - To produce food service technologists who can apply knowledge, skills, competencies and innovations related to food service tasks and problems and challenges. 
PEO 2 - To produce technopreneurs in food service related technology. 
PEO 3 - To produce relevant, respected and referred professionals in food service technology.

PROGRAMME LEARNING OUTCOMES

These are the PLOs for Bachelor in Foodservice Technology with Honours: 

PLO 1 - Apply knowledge of technology fundamentals to define and applied commercial foodservice technology system procedures, processes, systems and methodologies. 
PLO 2 - Able to suggest and apply latest tools and techniques to solve and upgrading of commercial foodservice technology system faults and problems. 
PLO 3 - Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve common commercial foodservice problems and solutions in the field of study. 
PLO 4 -  Able to communicate and articulate effectively in both verbal and written among technologist communities and society at large. 
PLO 5 - Demonstrate understanding of the societal related issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant foodservice technology practices. 
PLO 6 - Recognize the needs for professional development and to engage independent lifelong learning in foodservice specialist technologists.
PLO 7 - Demonstrate an awareness of management and technopreneurship practices in real perspective. 
PLO 8 - Demonstrate professionalism and social and ethical consideration.

CAREER PATH

Career & Further Education Prospect

Graduates have career opportunities in the private and public sector, particularly in the field of food service. Industries in the Food Services and Drinking Places subsector prepare meals, snacks, and beverages to customer order for immediate on-premises and off-premises consumption.

There is a wide range of establishments in these industries. Some provide food and drink only; while others provide various combinations of seating space, waiter/waitress services and incidental amenities, such as limited entertainment. The industries in the subsector are grouped based on the type and level of services provided. The industry groups are full-service restaurants; limited-service eating places; special food services, such as food service contractors, caterers, and mobile food services; and drinking places.

Graduates also have the opportunity to continue their studies at postgraduate level in areas related to technical and vocational education through programmes such as Master of Technical and Vocational Education and equivalent programmes.
