OVERVIEW
The program is designed to be in line with the vision and mission of the University. Through this program, graduates are expected to become part of the skilled worker which is capable in driving the growth of the country. This will be done with the course emphasizing new technologies, which also include theoretical and practical skills. In addition, this program will also expose students to a variety of activities that can increase the generic skills and personality.

CAREER PATH
Career & Further Education Prospect
Graduates have career opportunities in the private and public sector, particularly in the field of food service. Industries in the Food Services and Drinking Places subsector prepare meals, snacks, and beverages to customer order for immediate on-premises and off-premises consumption.
There is a wide range of establishments in these industries. Some provide food and drink only; while others provide various combinations of seating space, waiter/waitress services and incidental amenities, such as limited entertainment. The industries in the subsector are grouped based on the type and level of services provided. The industry groups are full-service restaurants; limited-service eating places; special food services, such as food service contractors, caterers, and mobile food services; and drinking places.
Graduates also have the opportunity to continue their studies at postgraduate level in areas related to technical and vocational education through programmes such as Master of Technical and Vocational Education and equivalent programmes.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
SYARAT KEMASUKAN BTECH
Syarat kemasukan terbahagi kepada tiga iaitu Calon Lepasan:
i. Diploma/Setaraf,
ii. Calon Lepasan Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM)
iii. Calon Lepasan Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/ Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM). Syarat kemasukan terdiri daripada syarat am dan syarat program.
i. Calon Lepasan Diploma/Setaraf
Syarat Am
Lulus Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / setaraf dengan mendapat kepujian dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia atau kepujian Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia Kertas Julai dan lulus dalam mata pelajaran Sejarah (SPM 2013 dan ke atas) dalam peperiksaan SPM.
dan
Memiliki Diploma dari Universiti Awam (UA) atau Politeknik atau kelulusan lain yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya oleh Kerajaan Malaysia.
dan
Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Band 2.0 dalam Malaysian University English Test (MUET) mengikut tempoh sah laku pada tarikh permohonan (Pengecualian MUET sebagai Syarat Am permohonan kemasukan ke Malaysia Technical University Network (MTUN) kepada lepasan Diploma Politeknik dan Kolej Komuniti).
NOTA: Pelajar lepasan Diploma boleh dipertimbangkan untuk perpindahan kredit / pengecualian kredit di peringkat Sarjana Muda berdasarkan kelulusan mata pelajaran dan bidang pengajian peringkat Diploma yang diikuti.
Syarat Khas (Bagi Program BBS)
Memiliki Diploma dalam bidang Seni Kulinari / Perkhidmatan Makanan / Pastri Bakeri dari mana-mana Universiti Awam (UA) atau Politeknik atau kelulusan yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya oleh Kerajaan Malaysia dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya CPA / PNGK 2.50.
Calon dengan CPA / PNGK bawah 2.50 tetapi lebih daripada 2.00 boleh diterima masuk tertakluk pada proses penilaian dalaman yang rapi dan perlu mengikuti program pengukuhan sekiranya ditetapkan oleh pihak UTHM.
dan
Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Band 2.0 dalam Malaysian University English Test (MUET) mengikut tempoh sah laku pada tarikh permohonan (Pengecualian MUET sebagai syarat permohonan kemasukan ke Malaysia Technical University Network (MTUN) kepada lepasan Diploma Politeknik dan Kolej Komuniti).
NOTA: Calon yang terpilih diwajibkan untuk lulus semua kursus pengukuhan yang akan ditentukan oleh pihak universiti.
ii. Calon Lepasan Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM)
Syarat Am
Mendapat kepujian dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia Kod 1103/1104 atau kepujian Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia Kertas Julai;
dan
Memiliki Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) atau kelulusan yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya oleh Kerajaan Malaysia;
Syarat Khas (Bagi Program BBS)
Memiliki Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) dalam bidang yang berkaitan dari Kolej Vokasional atau kelulusan yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya oleh Kerajaan Malaysia dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya CPA / PNGK 2.50.
Calon dengan CPA / PNGK bawah 2.50 tetapi lebih daripada 2.00 boleh diterima masuk tertakluk pada proses penilaian dalaman yang rapi dan perlu mengikuti program pengukuhan sekiranya ditetapkan oleh pihak UTHM.
iii. Calon Lepasan Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia(DKM)/ Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)
Syarat Am
Mendapat kepujian dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia atau kepujian Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia Kertas Julai;
dan
Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) atau kelulusan yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya oleh Kerajaan Malaysia;
dan
Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Band 1.0 untuk keputusan yang diperolehi mulai Sesi 1 Tahun 2021 atau Band 1 untuk keputusan tahun 2020 dan sebelumnya dalam Malaysian University English Test (MUET) mengikut tempoh sah laku pada tarikh permohonan.
Nota
Pelajar Lepasan Diploma boleh dipertimbangkan untuk perpindahan kredit/pengecualian kredit di peringkat Sarjana Muda berdasarkan kelulusan mata pelajaran dan bidang pengajian peringkat Diploma yang diikuti.
Syarat Khas (Bagi Program BBS)
Memiliki Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) dalam bidang yang berkaitan dari Institut Latihan Kemahiran Awam (ILKA) atau kelulusan yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya oleh Kerajaan Malaysia dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya CPA / PNGK 2.50.
dan
Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Band 1.0 dalam Malaysian University English Test (MUET) mengikut tempoh sah laku pada tarikh permohonan.
