OVERVIEW

Master of Technical and Vocational Education program aims to produce teachers with high skills based on relevant theories and practices as well as demonstrate the authority of a professional teacher in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) based on the National Philosophy of Education and the Philosophy of Teacher Education.

PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES
PEO 1 Implement teaching with high skills based on relevant theories and practices as well as demonstrate the authority of a professional teacher in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) based on the National Philosophy of Education and the Philosophy of Teacher Education.
PEO 2 Critically analyze and plan the needs of technical and vocational education and training using knowledge and skills in the process of technical and vocational education and training (TVET] management based on teacher ethics.
PEO 3 Plan and convey information through effective communication through speech, writing and the use of ICT, as well as working in groups with a high leadership style.
PEO 4 Demonstrate the ability to improve one's knowledge and skills in line with current needs through lifelong learning in technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
PEO 5 Lead and participate in planning, implementing and reporting innovative -based activities, projects, research initiatives for the purpose of development and application of knowledge in technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
PEO 6 Acquire knowledge and diversify skills as well as develop individual potential by adhering to high ethics and integrity to contribute to society in technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

 

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOME
PLO 1

Apply and integrate the latest knowledge in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) based on the National Philosophy of Education and the Philosophy of Teacher Education. [knowledge and understanding] of MQF domain 1.

PLO 2

Apply research techniques to acquire, interpret, and develop teacher skills in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to meet the needs of the national employment. [Practical skills] domain MQF3a.

PLO 3

Demonstrate the ability to communicate, lead and work in groups to build new knowledge in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET). [Interpersonal and communication skills] domains MQF3b and 3c.

PLO 4

Synthesize advanced knowledge and engage in scientific problem solving and skills as a practitioner of education in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). [Cognitive and numbering skills] MQF domains 2 and 3e, 3d.

PLO 5

Demonstrate the quality, ability and capability to work as a professional educator in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) towards developing the learning community of the future. [Autonomy and accountability] MQF domain 3f.

PLO 6

Design and apply scientific methods ethically and professionally for problem solving in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) [Ethics and professionalism] MQF domain 5

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

MASTER'S DEGREE BY COURSEWORK

  1. A bachelor's degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by UTHM Senate; or
  2. A bachelor's degree in the field or related fields, or equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment.
  3. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UTHM and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (iii)(Rigorous Assessment)

MINIMUM ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS

  1. Applicants should fulfill the minimum English proficiency level as approved by UTHM Senate Bil. 3/2022/2023 (Kali ke-221) of either:


    This requirement is subjected to students registered in Semester 1 academic session 2021/2022 onwards
  2. Applicants who graduated with academic qualifications from Higher Learning Institutions in Malaysia recognized by the Senate are eligible to apply for exemption from the English Language Proficiency requirements.
  3. Applicants who graduated with academic qualifications from Higher Learning Institutions from foreign countries listed as English Speaking Countries are eligible to apply for exemption from the English Language Proficiency requirements.

TAUGHT COURSE

Full time : Minimum 3 semester (1.5 years) and Maximum 6 semester (3 years)

Part time: Minimum 5 semester (2.5 years) and Maximum 10 semester (5 years)
